Anyone Can Participate in Yoga Therapy

Therapeutic Yoga helps improve health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga. The mind and body have a strong connection. Emotional and psychological energy might stall within the body, which could cause a blockage both mentally and physically. If you experience depression, anxiety, attention-focus related issues, sleep issues, moodiness, or chronic stress, you will likely benefit from yoga therapy. At Mountain Vista Psychology, we offer both group and individual yoga therapy sessions. Anyone can participate in yoga therapy and no prior experience is needed!

How can Therapeutic Yoga help?

Therapeutic yoga is a type of therapy that uses yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and imagery to improve mental and physical health. Oftentimes, our emotions are stored in the body and yoga therapy helps alleviate these symptoms emotionally and physically. Yoga therapy utilizes elements from both physical therapy and psychotherapy. A few potential benefits from yoga therapy include: Stress reduction, decrease in anxiety and depression levels, increase in quality of sleep, and an increase in efficient functioning of bodily systems.
