What Is Telehealth?

If you need online therapy and telehealth support, we are here to support you! Telehealth allows you to be at home and receive counseling services. In our fast-paced digital economy, the convenience and accessibility of online therapy has opened doors to healing.

At Mountain Vista Psychology, we have a HIPPA-compliant platform in which we meet you on video to have sessions. Our platform ensures our session is completely confidential and your privacy is kept just as it would be for an in-person counseling session.

We believe in an integrative and holistic approach to help you make the changes you want. Contact us now to schedule an appointment or to request a 20 minute free phone consultation. During this session, you will be invited to share your story and ask any questions you may have.

More Good News

Research to date shows that for many mental health treatments, telehealth produces similar or identical outcomes as in-person. This means that you can get effective therapeutic support while you stay home. Most insurance companies (including Medicaid) cover telehealth.

If you choose to seek reimbursement, check with your insurance provider to be sure.

To use telehealth you will need the following:

  1.  Internet connection (with enough bandwidth to support a video conference call)
  2. A computer, tablet, or smartphone
  3. A quiet, private room in your home

Your counselor will be in a secured location to ensure your privacy. It is important that you are too!

Convenience of Telehealth & Online Therapy

We are able to provide telehealth services to anyone who lives in Colorado. The flexibility of scheduling these sessions is a game-changer. Online therapy allows you to find time for self-care within your busy schedule. Whether it’s during a lunch break, after work, or during the day, you can choose when therapy fits into your life. One of the most significant advantages is the accessibility it provides.

Regardless of where you live, you can connect with qualified therapists from the comfort of your own home. This not only eliminates the need for commuting but also ensures that help is just a click away. This means that whether you live in a more remote location or in the heart of Denver, you can now access support from the comfort of your home. Although we find telehealth does not work as well with children, we do find teens, college students, and adults enjoying the benefits of therapy without the hassle of driving to an office.

Telehealth Therapeutic Modalities

Many people wonder if there are limits to the types of therapies they can do through telehealth.  We are happy to say that we are able to provide many of the same modalities during a telehealth session as we are an in-person session. Some of the modalities we can provide via telehealth include:

Although we can do some elements of psychological evaluations via telehealth, for us to effectively test for AutismADHD, and learning disabilities we do need to meet in person. In addition, as previously mentioned, children who benefit from play therapy are not the best candidates for telehealth. Children are better supported with in-person therapy. Finally, if you would like to participate in neurofeedback therapy, this also requires in-person appointments. That said, unless you would like a psychological evaluation, therapy for your younger child, or neurofeedback we can support you via telehealth just as effectively as if you came to an in-person therapy session! We find the virtual setting often lends itself to a more relaxed and open atmosphere, encouraging honest conversations.
