Forensic Evaluations

Help Answer Court Questions

At MVP we offer forensic evaluations for youth involved in the juvenile justice system, as well as for individuals of all ages with neurodevelopmental needs such as Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, ADHD, and Learning Disorders.

A forensic evaluation addresses concerns that span both the legal system and the field of psychology. These psychological and psycholegal evaluations can be used to help answer court-specific questions. While forensic psychologists do not make final decisions about legal concerns, we are able to offer opinions to the court regarding psychological factors to consider in each case.

We can work privately with attorneys, parents, and guardians, or publicly with the State of Colorado and other subdivisions of the state such as counties, towns, school districts, etc. Please give us a call if you have questions about whether a forensic evaluation is right for you.

Again, at MVP we conduct forensic evaluations for youth involved in the juvenile justice system. We complete a variety of evaluations for youth that address psycholegal concerns such as competency to stand trial or transfer to the adult court.

We specialize in helping attorneys and judges understand how neurodevelopmental disorders, trauma, behavior, child development, family functioning, and systemic factors play a role in forensic psychology matters. Our psychologists have expertise in matters such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Learning Disorders, Emotional Dysregulation, Behavior Disorders, and Trauma Disorders. Our clinicians can also answer questions about adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

When is a Forensic Evaluation helpful?

If you are an attorney and have questions about the psychological well-being of your client, would like a case reviewed, or are seeking a second opinion, we can help explore your areas of concern. If you are a parent or guardian whose child is involved in the legal system, your child may benefit from a forensic evaluation. We would encourage you to consult with your child’s attorney to see if this would be helpful in your child’s case.
