Is it laziness or lack of desire to “get it together” or is it ADHD?
Often times it is difficult to know what is really going on, but an evaluation can help!
If you think you or someone may have ADHD call us at 720-583-9332 to learn how our thorough evaluation can help you understand what is going on and the next steps you can take to improve social relationships and have more success in school or work!
ADHD testing & ADHD diagnosis can open the door for understanding support. Before testing is completed, often times people aren’t sure if they have ADHD or not. People wonder, “Is this ADHD or motivation?” They think, “Maybe there just needs to be more effort!” If you think you or your child has ADHD an ADHD evaluation can be extremely helpful! ADHD testing helps create a clear understanding of strengths and areas of needed support. Whether or not a diagnosis is given, you will have an idea of how to improve life!
At MVP, we do a lot of testing for adults, teens, and children to help determine an ADHD diagnosis. Our assessments are thorough and in line with best practices in ADHD assessment & diagnosis. We complete a written report and have an in person feedback session when testing is completed.
When people complete the testing process we often hear how helpful it was for them to “get words and numbers” to what they were feeling. People get a better understanding of what can appear, at times, to be confusing behavior. They better understand not only areas of struggle, but also areas of strength. In addition, an ADHD diagnosis can open up the possibility of receiving extra support, services, or accommodations. Our reports have been used to support people still in k-12 education or in college.
Finally, one of the areas that can be most helpful is receiving a list of recommendations, which are at the end of every evaluation. This list of recommendations can give people a great place to start to create the change they need. You don’t have do “hunt and peck” to figure out next steps. The recommendations set forth in the written report are discussed with you in the feedback session. When you walk out of the feedback session you can begin to implement strategies to create change and improve life.
Although we do modify our testing to the needs of our clients, a typical ADHD assessment includes an interview, rating scales, an intelligence test, and a continuous performance task. This thorough assessment process is designed to ensure that clients receive as accurate a diagnosis as possible. We serve Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Englewood, Parker, Castle Rock, and the other communities in the Denver Metro area.
