Becoming your best self

Becoming your best self means seeking growth in all areas of your life. This means cutting the distractions and dialing in on your goals. The road to becoming the best you that you can be is a long one, and if you are working on discovering the best of yourself, the biggest part of it all is changing your mindset and becoming confident.

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

-Albert Einstein

Your journey to becoming your best self means something different for all of us. What may be the best version of you may not be what someone else thinks being their best self means. However, no matter what your end goal may be, these will serve as a guide on your journey.

Be realistic

Change doesn’t come overnight and can be a long, drawn-out process. You will hit roadblocks and you may stumble, even after completing some of your goals. Trust in the process and keep believing in yourself.  Let go of your past failures and move towards your current goal with optimism!

Set goals

Start by knowing what you want to achieve and set goals for that area in your life. When you set goals, you are likely to be more determined to finish. When we have personal goals, we can have a long-term vision and short-term motivation. When you set your goals, make sure they are clear with reasonable expectations to complete them. Start with the big picture, meaning what you see yourself doing as a whole, further down the line. Next, break it down into smaller goals to help you reach the bigger goal. Now get to work!

Don’t be afraid

This one is tougher. You’ll need to get out of your comfort zone to reach your best self which can be intimidating at first. However, once you shed this layer a lot of the process of becoming your best self will come easier as you will also gain a sense of confidence in yourself. Encourage yourself to venture into unfamiliar places, and to do things that you wouldn’t normally do.

Don’t go it alone

Of course, you can do this journey on your own but it helps to have cheerleaders on the way or a partner to celebrate milestones with. Partner up with a friend, spouse, or relative on your journey and uplift, support and help each other on the way to becoming your best selves. Plus, having someone beside you through this makes it all easier.

Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts, and are extremely helpful on your path to change. Find ones that motivate you! Some like to power pose in the mirror while they repeat their affirmations. Not only are affirmations useful for becoming your best self, they will help you obtain and sustain a positive mindset overall.

Be your best self

Becoming the best version of yourself is a great goal to set for yourself and will make you better in every aspect of your life. The discipline you learn will help you achieve anything you want to, and will give you confidence. Focus on becoming the new you and stay positive!
