It has been a long journey that started two years ago and….we are in! I have a strong core value that everyone should have access to quality mental health care so two years ago, as a practice we started the journey to get paneled with Medicaid. For those of you who don’t know, if someone carries Medicaid insurance, they are not permitted to pay out of pocket for care that Medicaid pays for. Although Medicaid covers neurofeedback, there are not many people who offer neurofeedback services and even fewer who take Medicaid so what this meant was that there have been a whole lot of people who just didn’t have access to neurofeedback. They could not find a provider who took Medicaid and were not allowed to pay out of pocket. This left them without being able to access an important service. When I realized this was the case, we started the process of getting paneled with Medicaid. I will spare you all the gory details, but two years later we are now able to provide Medicaid counseling and Medicaid neurofeedback services to our community😊
Medicaid Neurofeedback
Yes, Medicaid covers neurofeedback services. If you want to learn more about neurofeedback, please look around our website. Neurofeedback has strong science behind it and in my experience, I have seen it help create change for people when other modalities could not. Although no one modality works for everyone, research indicates neurofeedback has a high success rate and I am passionate about as many people having access to it as possible! It can be effective for those who struggle with brain based mental health challenges such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, memory, trauma, and mild to moderate traumatic brain injuries. Although there is no cure for any other these difficulties, neurofeedback improves brain functioning that results in improved symptoms. We are so excited to serve those who would benefit from neurofeedback and have Medicaid!
Medicaid Counseling
In addition to Medicaid neurofeedback services, we provide Medicaid counseling services. We have therapists who specialize in working with children, teens, and adults who can now serve the Medicaid population. Although there is greater access to counselors who accept Medicaid than there are Neurofeedback practitioners, access to care continues to be limited for many people. We are so excited to help provide better access to quality mental health care.
Closing Words
We are so thankful for how we get to spend our days and for all the people we get to work with. Today, we are so thankful for the additional opportunity to serve the Medicaid population!
We hope you all are having a wonderful start to your summer! If you, your child, or your family could benefit from counseling or neurofeedback, give us a call at 720-583-9332! We look forward to hearing from you😊
