Have You Thought About Your Habits Lately?
Have you thought about your habits lately? You know, those things we do without really thinking about it? We can often get into habits that negatively impact our lives without really thinking about it. Maybe we have an unfortunate series of events happen and we get in a funk with our thinking. Perhaps we get overwhelmed with visitors coming in from out of town and we fall out of our exercise routine. Maybe we are in the habit of barking at our family members without even realizing we are doing it.
We can create habits in just about every activity. Our thinking patterns are habits. Whether we exercise or not is a habit. What and when we eat is a habit. We have habits with how we interact with others. When we go to bed and when we wake up are habits. In some ways, habits can be considered the series of activities that when added up create our lives. When you think of habits in this way, it becomes clear exactly how important they are. It also becomes clear that one of the greatest ways to create change in your life is to change your habits!
Think about your life as you would like to live it. Imagine what habits you would need to have in place to create that life. Would you like a deeper connection with someone you love? What habits would need to change to make this happen? Would you like to lessen the anxiety you feel in your life? There are habits you can create for that too. As you read this are there any habits that come to mind that you would like to change? If you would like to change some habits, don’t take on too much at a time. I recommend changing one habit at a time. Get success with one habit and then work on the next one. It can be a snowball effect where over time you will be living more of the habits that leave you feeling good.
Here is to happy habit creation:)
