Create A Good Morning

create a good morning

Would you like to know how to create a good morning every day? Today I want to share with you some tips to alleviate the stress from your morning.

One helpful strategy is to get everything ready the night before.  Think about what you need the next day and if you have children, think about what they need too.  If you have children you can teach them this strategy rather than doing it for them so they will be able to become successfully independent.

For example, in our house I have two children and myself to prepare for the night before (my husband takes care of his own stuff).  After dinner and homework is complete, the kids put their homework in their folders in their backpacks and put their backpacks by the door to the garage (the door we leave out of in the morning).  We discuss what food the kids would like for snacks and lunch the next day and do any prep work after dinner together.

They put their snacks in their backpack.  I get anything I need for work the next day and also put it in my bag by the door.  I typically pack a salad for lunch which I make after dinner and put in the fridge.  The kids also pick out what they are going to wear the next day and have it ready.

In the morning when we wake up, we get dressed, eat breakfast, get our lunches in our bags, get our water into our water bottles and we are ready to go.  We also are purposeful in taking time to connect with each other in the morning, if even for a few minutes.

Before we started this system, inevitably someone would forget something or not be able to find something they needed.  We would spend time hunting things down and the morning would quickly turn stressful.  Often times our mornings set the tone for our day.

When we can be purposeful in creating a calm peaceful morning and connecting with each other, we are better able to enjoy our mornings. These steps set a positive tone for our day.  I would challenge you to think through your evening and morning routine.  Think about how you would prefer your mornings to go.  Is there anything that can be shifted to create a more calm and peaceful morning in your home?

If this post has inspired you but you are having difficulty creating the mornings you would like, we can help.  Give us a call at 720-583-9332.  We will connect you with a counselor who specializes in working with people like you.  Don’t wait for things to change on their own.  Change may not happen.  Take action and create the change you want to have in your life.
